Online Safety

At the University of Brighton Academies Trust, we actively promote the amazing opportunities, knowledge and skills the online world can offer to our young people. However, we also know that it introduces new potential dangers and complications. Our aim is to partner with parents and carers to protect the young people in our academy communities, while helping them gain the confidence and skills they need to access this exciting world safely and responsibly.

Within our family of academies, we immerse our learners in safe online practice, through our personal, social, health and economic curriculum, computing classes, use of technology throughout the school, in our assemblies and in daily conversations.

The internet opens up a world of entertainment, opportunity and knowledge. To help your child to enjoy it all safely, the UK Council for Child Internet Safety (UKCCIS) has developed the Click Clever, Click Safe code.

What is the Click Clever, Click Safe code designed to?

1. Give parents the confidence to be able to help children enjoy the internet safely
2. Help children and young people understand how their online experiences can expose them to risks

It’s easy to remember when talking to children about online safety and it’s designed to help keep them safe on the internet.
